The Royal Thai Government donates USD 100,000 to UNHCR to support Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh

 

Bangkok, 15 March 2018 – The Royal Thai Government’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Don Pramudwinai, handed over a letter of intention to donate USD100,000 to UNHCR to support Rohingya refugees and host communities in Bangladesh. The letter was received by Mr. Shinji Kubo, Officer-in-Charge, from the UNHCR Representation in Thailand.  Mr. Abul Hassan Mahmood Ali, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, was also present.

 

UNHCR, on behalf of the refugees and host communities, would like to express gratitude and appreciation to the Royal Thai Government for its generosity towards those in need in Bangladesh. UNHCR would also like to thank the Royal Thai Government for continuously supporting UNHCR’s humanitarian efforts to protect refugees in Thailand and around the world.
