EMERGENCY IN UGANDA
Uganda hosts more than 1.5 million refugees, the majority from neighbouring South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Local communities who have so little themselves are generously sharing their land, schools, and resources with refugees.
But more refugees fleeing violence are arriving in the country every day, needing relief items and shelter. On top of this, flooding and an Ebola outbreak mean that both refugees and local communities in Uganda are struggling more than ever before.
PLEASE DONATE NOW
As the costs of food, fuel and building materials are increasing globally, our work in Uganda is critically underfunded, meaning that we cannot provide even the most basic of services to those that need our help. More than 130 cases of Ebola have been confirmed among host communities so far, but limited funding means we cannot provide enough soap and hygiene kits-putting thousands at risk.
Recent flooding in the West Nile region of Uganda has destroyed shelters and latrines, yet we cannot repair them, risking the outbreak of water-borne diseases like cholera.
There is so much more to be done to support both refugee and host communities in Uganda who stand in solidarity with those forced to flee. But we cannot do this without your help.
Please donate today to provide life-saving support in Uganda.
