Thailand

The Thai government invited UNHCR to begin working in Thailand in 1975. Today, UNHCR focuses on protection activities and programmes to ensure that refugees live in safety and relative security within the nine camps. UNH CR has 37 interntional staff and 80 national staff working in Thailand in Bangkok and other three field offices in Kanchanaburi, Mae Hong Son and Tak provinces.
